All Internet reports, voice messages and live conversations received
by WB-Resources, LLC are converted to a text report and then
anonymously posted to our secure website where it can be view
by the audit committee. The Audit Committee will not know who
you are unless you choose to reveal yourself. The Audit Committee
never hears or sees your original report and only receives the
text information using a unique user name and password on our
secure server. These reports whether individualized or in aggregate
are never faxed or emailed. Our staff is committed to ensure
that no report is ever shared with an implicated party, their
peers or subordinates.
The Act contains many employment related provisions – one
of which relates to the protection of employees. The Act creates
federal protection for “whistleblowers” when they
act lawfully to disclose information about questionable accounting
or auditing matters within their firms. Companies and individuals
who seek to retaliate against such employees face severe criminal
penalties based on the following sections:
(a) In General. Section 1513 of title 18, United States Code,
is amended by adding at the end the following:
"(e) Whoever knowingly, with the intent to retaliate, takes
any action harmful to any person, including interference with
the lawful employment or livelihood of any person, for providing
to a law enforcement officer any truthful information relating
to the commission or possible commission of any Federal offense,
shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than
10 years, or both.".
Section 1106 — Increased Criminal Penalties under Securities
Exchange Act of 1934
Section 32(a) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 is amended—
(1) by striking "$ 1,000,000, or imprisoned not more than
10 years" and inserting "$ 5,000,000, or imprisoned
not more than 20 years"; and
(2) by striking "$ 2,500,000" and inserting "$
25,000,000".
